Bucyrus joins Harley on IndustryWeek list.
Bucyrus International Inc. of South Milwaukee has been recognized by IndustryWeek magazine as one of the IW 50 Best Manufacturing Companies because of the company”s recent sales and profit growth driven by strong global demand for mined resources.

The mining equipment manufacturer joined Milwaukee-based heavyweight motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson Inc., a veteran of the annual IndustryWeek list, as the only Wisconsin companies to make the listing of publicly traded manufacturers. Harley-Davidson was the only state firm to make the 2007 and 2006 lists.

Bucyrus (NASDAQ: BUCY) nearly doubled its profit in 2007 and revenue increased 118 percent, with the company benefiting from increasing demand in the mining industry, the IndustryWeek report noted. Part of the growth in sales and profits came from acquisitions.
