SAINT JOHN - The Floating Pipeline Co. of Halifax will add 50 permanent jobs at its manufacturing operations here over the next 12 to 14 months, the company announced Wednesday.
‘The global demand is really heating up,’ said company president Len Thompson.
Mr. Thompson cited strong market demand for company products as the reason for the expansion.
The Floating Pipeline Co. specializes in compressed natural gas transportation solutions such as transport and storage systems for marine and land applications. The company’s 120,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Saint John has been employing 22 people, he said.
At Wednesday’s announcement, the New Brunswick government announced a $2.5-mil- lion loan guarantee for the company to assist with working capital and the purchase of new equipment that will increase the operation’s production capacity.
