More help needed for Mitsubishi workers: union
April 24th, 2008 | by Manufacturing Business |More help needed for Mitsubishi workers: union.
The Australian Manufacturing Workers Union says only a small number of the 930 redundant Mitsubishi workers have found new jobs.
The last batch of Mitsubishi 380 sedans will roll off the production line this afternoon as South Australia”s Clovelly Park factory prepares to shut down on Friday.
The union”s John Camillo says the focus needs to be on helping more workers get jobs.
‘I”m aware that quite a few people have found employment and some will be starting work with new companies next week but that”s only in the minority,’ he said.
‘Really the big task now is to find the majority of people who are seeking employment full-time employment here in South Australia.’
