SINGAPORE, March 26 (Bernama) — Singapore”s manufacturing output last month was 10 per cent higher than February 2007, the Singapore Economic Development Board (SEDB) said today. It said in a statement that all industry clusters, led by transport engineering and electronics, registered output growth. The transport engineering cluster grew 17.2 per cent year-on-year in February, it said. Output of the marine and offshore engineering segment grew 29.5 per cent due to higher levels of activity in ship-repairing, shipbuilding, fabrication of oil rigs and manufacture of oil field equipment. SEDB said output of the electronics cluster last month was 12.3 per cent higher than a year ago. Increased production was seen in semiconductors (+20.8 percent), other electronic modules & components (+13.7 percent) and data storage (+3.2 percent).
